National Pairs Championship (Sunday & Monday)

World Qualifying Round (Monday)

The Brisca V8 Hotstox make their first appearance at Skegness Raceway on May 25th and 26th as we look forward to a full weekend of tarmac action!

The weekend will see the 2025 running of the unique Brisca V8 Hotstox National Pairs Championship. The 2024 National Pairs weekend was dominated by the superb performances of  blue grader Michael Boswell (#328) who stormed to an incredible six victories over the weekend. Day one of the weekend’s meetings saw three straight victories for Boswell as he claimed both heat wins and the meeting final. The Grand National saw another blue top taking victory as Guy Jolly (#222) made it two consecutive Grand National wins.
Day two saw Boswell continuing his fine form. Once again, he won both heats and the meeting final in a sensational repeat of his results from the previous day. Youngster Gracie Squire (#29) won the Grand National on a track where she regularly sees success. Boswell had been paired with arguably one of the formula’s best tarmac drivers in Camey Dorrell (#262) and unsurprisingly the pair claimed the National Pairs title with an amazing 166 points over the weekend. Camey had previously won the title in 2022 with partner Marc Radforth and Michael had won in 2017 with Terry Hawkins. 2024’s runners up were Gracie Squire (#29) and Tom Dunne (#171) with 109 points. Third place with 83 points went to Will Cheetham (#182) and Guy Jolly (#222).

Camey Dorrell (#262) should make her season debut at the Skegness meetings and as always on tarmac will be a driver to watch. Sophie Maynard (#154) will be another lady driver on track in her stunning tarmac car. Sophie was the first winner of the Scottish weekend however her car sadly failed post-race scrutineering. It is likely that Sophie will be pushing hard to take the chequered flag at Skegness. “The Queen of the fence” Dannie Schoales (#137) is also likely to make her 2025 debut and will be in the thick of the action as always.
Hotstox newcomer Charile Portman (#528) will make his first appearance as a blue grader on the 25th and 26th May. Charlie has had a superb start to his Hotstox season however starting further back on the grid amongst the blue graders will pose him a new challenge. It will be interesting to see how Charlie copes starting in the middle of the pack with the red top drivers right behind him, Charlie has proven he has the pace to win on tarmac and will be looking to show that he can move forward from further back in the pack.

The Brisca V8 Hotstox Facebook page will post live results over the weekend. The formula returns to Skegness on the 5th October and once again will be a part of the annual Gala Night on November 15th. Skegness is one of the most popular tracks amongst the Hotstox drivers and they always put on a superb show around the tarmac oval. The May speed weekend will be no exception!

National Pairs:

How it works... the pairs are made up of the highest points scorer & lowest points scorer, both drivers of course have to be booked in. Points from each race are added together from each drivers finishing positions, with the highest total scorers from the weekend crowned champions. It's a tactical one, do you race as a team to take maximum points, or do you go it alone, remembering that all points go towards the National Points Chart at the end of the weekend.

Defending Champions
