The Brisca V8 Hotstox make their first appearance on tarmac on the 19th April at Buxton Raceway as the drivers compete for the Supreme Championship!

The Hotstox last visited Buxton in August of 2025. There was plenty on offer over the two meetings with the Buxton Gold Cup and the 2025 under 25s championship on offer. Heat 1 of Sunday’s meeting was won by tarmac ace Sophie Maynard (#154) as she began another brilliant weekend of results in the Hotstox. Lewis Galer (#78) took victory in heat 2, another driver who would go on to have a superb weekend. The meeting final was also the 2025 running of the Buxton Gold cup. Stephen Young (#176) launched a last bend attack on Maynard to ensure that the trophy stayed within the Young family for another year after brother Matthew had won in 2024. Maynard would return to the top step of the podium in the Grand National.

Monday’s meeting began with the 2025 running of the under 25s championship. Once again it was Gracie Squire (#29) who was able to hold her nerve during a big race and she claimed the championship. Following a sixth place finish in the under 25s race, Lewis Galer would then go on to dominate the meeting. Lewis sensationally won both heats and the meeting final before securing 7th in the Grand National from the lap handicap. Dan Poole (#296) won the Grand National and the last race of the weekend.

Drivers to look out for on the 19th April include tarmac specialists Camey Dorrell (#262) and Sophie Maynard (#154) who make their season debuts. Maynard has confirmed that 2026 will be her last season of racing and she will be hoping for a successful start to her final season. Shale specialist and current holder of the Supreme Championship Paul Prest (#491) makes a rare tarmac appearance. Buxton ace Stephen Young (#176) will be hoping to continue his success at Buxton but Young and the other superstar drivers will have to be quick off the mark to catch the rapid car of Nick Blach (#160) who will be starting nearer the front.
