Next Saturday marks the start of a busy week for the Brisca V8 Hotstox as the formula makes its second appearance of the season at Ipswich on the 25th July, sponsored by RJ Camper Solutions, and then appears at Eastbourne on the 29th July, sponsored by The George Inn. With both meetings being World Championship qualifying rounds, it could prove to be a crucial week in the race for points towards this season’s World Final grid.

In June of this year the Hotstox appeared at the fast Ipswich oval. British Champion Timmy Aldridge (#257) took the opening victory of the weekend before World Champion Thomas Brighton (#329) won the second heat. The meeting final was also won by Aldridge as he completed a superb heat and final double. Evan Bullock (#110) crossed the line in second place with Sophie Maynard (#154) in third.

Dan Poole (#296) is scheduled to be on track at Ipswich in our RJ Camper Solutions sponsored meeting and will be a favourite for race wins following his dominant weekend recently at Smeatharpe Stadium, Taunton. Following a challenging first half of the 2026 season, Dan won an incredible six out of eight races at Taunton (including both meeting finals over the weekend). Yellow grader Ben Allen (#477) had arguably his best ever meeting in the Hotstox formula at Ipswich in June, he’ll definitely be a driver to watch and will be looking to make the most of starting nearer the front of the grid.

The last appearance for the Hotstox at Eastbourne came in September of 2023. Heat 1 was won by Matt Barnard (#69) who quickly adapted to the unique Eastbourne surface. Thomas Brighton, who was making his first appearance with the gold roof and number 1 after winning the 2023 World Final, won heat 2. Brighton went on to make it a heat and final double with Barnard in second place and the in form Timmy Aldridge (#257) taking third place. Aldridge went one better and took another Grand National victory in the final race of the meeting.

Thomas Brighton (#329), who is enjoying his second reign as World Champion, will be present at our Eastbourne meeting, sponsored by The George Inn, and searching for those valuable World Championship qualifying points. Another driver to keep a close eye on will be Tom Dunne (#171) who was in the thick of the action at the recent Taunton weekend. Tom is one of the formula’s fastest rising stars and isn’t afraid to use the front bumper to make progress through the pack. With other big hitters such as Timmy Aldridge (#257) and Matt Barnard (#69) set to appear, it should be a superb Wednesday night meeting at Eastbourne.
