The Ford Race Wings/Harecroft Motorsport sponsored 2026 Brisca V8 Hotstox British Championship is on the line on September 19th as the Hotstox contest one of the biggest weekends of the 2026 season! The British Championship will take place on Saturday 19th September with the Under 25s championship, sponsored by The Stairshop, and the Buxton Gold Cup, sponsored by M&H Vehicle Preparations, taking place on Sunday 20th September.

Timmy Aldridge (#257) is the current British Champion and will be looking to defend his title on September 19th. The British Champiobship is the first of the “major” titles to be competed for in the 2026 season and the top drivers will be looking to show their dominance. The Under 25s championship is currently held by Gracie Squire (#29) and the younger drivers of the formula will be battling hard to take home the trophy on Sunday 20th September. The Brisca V8 Hotstox has for many years been a breeding ground for future stars of stock car racing and the Under 25s championship is a superb opportunity for the younger racers to take centre stage. Stephen Young (#176) currently holds the Buxton Gold cup having won the trophy in 2025, Stephen’s victory kept the trophy in the family after his brother Matthew (#376) had won it in 2024

The Hotstox last raced at Buxton in June at the venue’s World Championship qualifying round. Sophie Maynard (#154) won heat 1 and the Jon Maw memorial meeting final. Ruby Lomax (#369) recorded her second win in the formula in heat 2. Timmy Aldridge (#257) found himself in the winner’s circle once again after taking the chequered flag in the Grand National.

The competition will be fierce over the weekend with some of the formula’s very best taking to the Buxton tarmac. Defending champions Timmy Aldridge, Stephen Young and Gracie Squire are scheduled to appear and will have their work cut out to retain their respective titles. Tarmac ace Camey Dorrell (#262) will be looking for plenty of success over the weekend and is likely to be a favourite for the British Championship. Former British Champions Thomas Brighton (#329) and Jon Brown (#288) will be keen to take back the honour of wearing the black and white chequers on their wings. Closer to the front of the starting grid will be Frankie Burgess (#159) who is in fine form on both shale and tarmac recently. Frankie could cause a few surprises over the course of the weekend.

The Dave Atkinson memorial will now take place on Sunday 1st November at Buxton raceway in what will be the last visit for the formula to the venue in 2026 and the final points scoring meeting of the season.
