The V8 Hotstox are purpose built, single seater contact race cars. Usually powered by a Rover V8 Engine, this cars are not only designed for speed, but hard hitting contact to move the other drivers out of the way. As much as the V8's don't often have the biggest hits in Oval Racing, the cars are designed to protect the driver in any given crash. There are also some other features!

Wing/Aerofoil...

Usually in two formats, the wings are used to show grade colours, some aero dynamic on tarmac. Big wings tend to be used on shale, with smaller, flatter wings on the tarmac tracks!

Tires

Strict rules on the tires the drivers can use are also in effect. Unlike the Formula One's using big width tires, the V8's use a small width, easier and cheaper tyre to allow budget control.

Bumpers & Nerf Rails

V8's are full contact and it is encouraged! All cars have strict construction rules on bumper design and height, designed to handout and take punishment in hard fought battles!

Engines

Limited to certain variants of the Rover V8, aligned with performance to match, the cars have a strict engine build specification which is checked.

Height & Weight

The cars are governed by height and weight regulations, keeping the cars as even as possible so not advantage is gained through suspension changes, the suspension is also a controlled element of the build rules

Sponsorships

Drivers tend to have some great sponsorships behind them and the car is the selling point. The cars look awesome out on track, as long as its dry or under the lights!

The V8 Hotstoxs are one of the friendliest communities of racing drivers and teams in the UK and always on hand to lend support to their fellow drivers. The hard hitting on track action stays at the gate as drivers muck in to repair each others cars to make sure as many drivers can get back out for each race. The sport is open to both Male & Female Drivers, the sport has since two female championship winners in recent years and few ladies have joined the formula too. Cars can be picked up from around £5,000 onwards depending on the specification, spares, history etc and the V8's also have a buy and sell social media page to support drivers where needed. Some parts are only purchased via the Club to control costs and ensure income into the Club as well.
